The AlphaGen Polymer release mechanism is unique to the Sigma Coatings brand. Sigma AlphaGen was the first tin-free self-polishing antifouling researched and developed in Europe, and patented worldwide.

The controlled polishing rate of the products in Sigma AlphaGen releases cuprous oxide and organic biocides to give effective protection in accordance with the specified film thickness, yielding a service life of up to 60 months.

With no leach-zone build up (therefore safer for recoating) and offering the same effective service life as equivalent tin-containing antifouling products, Sigma AlphaGen offers a high performance alternative to tin-copolymer antifouling systems and consists of:

• Sigma AlphaGen 240, for deep-sea vessels
• Sigma AlphaGen 650, for coastal vessels
