Potable Water Tank
The size of drinking water tanks varies from a few hundred cubic metres in commercial cargo vessels to tens of thousands of cubic metres in large cruise vessels.

These tanks are lined to maintain water quality - quite small quantities of iron compounds can be tasted. The tanks must be easy to clean and disinfect and the steel protected from corrosion.

Whatever their size the coating systems applied to these tanks must meet strict criteria aimed at ensuring that the drinking water is both pure and taint-free. These coating systems are tested and approved by a number of recognised bodies.
